To be eligible to apply to SSE Riga a candidate has to meet the following requirements:

1. A secondary school education completed by July 2010 or earlier.
   
2. State examination results in Mathematics and English.

Applicants who are residents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and who completed their secondary education prior to 2008, and for applicants who completed their secondary education in a country other than Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, do not have to have state examination results in Mathematics and English to be eligible to apply. In addition to the online application form, applicants in this group have to submit a certified copy of the secondary education grade transcript and a copy of the photo page of his/her passport. The deadline for submitting these documents is June 30, 2010 (please note that the deadline for submitting the online application is the same for all applicants). Applicants in this group will be considered on a case by case basis by the SSE Riga Admissions Committee. If the application is approved, the Admissions committee will invite the applicant to the second step of the admission procedure.

All applicants who fulfill the formal entry requirements are welcome to submit an on-line application form.

The online application form will be available from February, 2010. Deadline for submission of the online application is Friday, May 10th, 18:00 (Latvian time).

THREE-STEP SELECTION
SSE Riga runs a three-step selection: state examination results, SSE Riga Test and interviews. Based on the cooperation agreements with testing centres in Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn, SSE Riga receives the state examination results in early July, therefore the processing of the results can be done in early July. The applicants who received secondary education in other country should submit certified copy of the grade transcript by June 30, 2010.

STEP 1
In early July centralized examination results are reviewed, and based on these, approximately 400 top applicants are selected for Step II. To rank the applicants, the State Examination results in Mathematics and English are standardized and weighted (Mathematics 60%, English 40%). The results will be published on the Internet at www.sseriga.edu.lv on July 3, 2010.

STEP 2
On July 7, 2010, selected applicants will take the SSE Riga Admissions Test that consists of the following: logical aptitude tests, English language tests, and Mathematics. The tests aim to evaluate analytical and critical thinking skills.

All tests are in English. For taking the tests, applicants should have a pen, a pencil and an eraser; no other materials are allowed.

When coming to the tests, applicants should submit the print out of the online application form and attach the required documents (a photocopy of the passport, a photocopy of the grade transcript, documents and reference letters certifying the extra-curricular activities during the last three years).

The tests will take place at SSE Riga, Strēlnieku iela 4a, Riga.

STEP 3
Based on test results, candidates for admission will be invited for interviews. A list of candidates invited for interviews will be published on the Internet at www.sseriga.edu.lv on July 9, 2010. Approximately 200 of the top performing candidates will be selected for interviews. When coming for interviews, the applicants should submit the required documents (a photocopy of the passport, a photocopy of the grade transcript, documents and reference letters certifying the extra-curricular activities during the last three years).

Interviews will take place starting from July 12 at SSE Riga, Strēlnieku iela 4a, Riga, and approximately 120 top candidates will be selected. The final results will be published on the Internet at www.sseriga.edu.lv on July 20, 2010.

REGISTRATION AND IMMATRICULATION
To become a student of SSE Riga, an admitted candidate should register by August 6, 2010 and submit originals of the following documents:

• Secondary school diploma
  
• Grade transcript
  
• State examination certificates.

If a candidate does not register for studies on time, the Admissions Committee has the right to invite the next candidate from the reserve list. Immatriculation will finish on August 9, 2010.

The studies of the new academic year will start on August 16, 2010.
